Notes

County-level data from DPI are aggregated from data at the school district level based on the county assigned to each district by the National Center for Education Statistics. The 2015 McKinney-Vento Every Student Succeeds Act reauthorized the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and included additional requirements for educational provision for homeless children and youth. The act, which took effect in 2016, defines homeless children and youth as: "individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate night-time residence."
