This page includes data that provide two perspectives on community investment. The first data set, from the Chronicle of Philanthropy, is based on itemized charitable contributions from tax returns. The giving ratio is defined as the total aggregate amount of itemized charitable contributions divided by the total aggregate adjusted gross income. The second set of data is from the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and the United Way Fox Cities and includes the total amount of funds disbursed to nonprofit organizations in the region. This chart does not reflect funds generously dispersed to nonprofits by private foundations.
